Dear FBB Inc.,
In 1998 when I found out I was pregnant with my third child, I braided my hair and decided to go natural for good. In late Summer, 2004, I had my hair corn-rowed. I had been keeping my hair braided for most of the past 25 years, with a couple of stints with perms in-between. My hair was natural, shoulder-length, healthy and strong.
I encountered several life-challenges late in the year and chose to let the braids stay in longer than usual.
In early 2005, finally able to sit down, take a breath, and take down my hair, I found it had locked up! I was devastated. DEVASTATED. I had to cut my hair to a ¼” afro. I’d never seen myself with no hair and it was kind of strange to me. I received compliments and I’m sure they were sincere. I continued loving myself and I’m happy to report that one year later, my hair is about 3 inches long, still healthy, still strong.
If I’d had a product like “Take Down”, I could’ve saved my hair. This is a very timely product for black hair care as more and more women of color are discovering the beauty and versatility of keeping their hair natural.

Braid Testimonials
Aug 28, 2008, 6:29 PM

Dear FBB Inc.,
I had my hair braided while on vacation in Mexico. After one month, I decided it was time for the braids to come out. Having never had my hair braided in the past, I was completely ignorant about what to do. After unwinding the braids, I figured I would just jump in the shower and wash my hair like normal. What a HUGE mistake that was. Within 10 minutes of showering, my hair sprung up into a wild rats nest! I picked at it for about two hours. It only seemed to get worse. Although I am almost 40 years old, I called my mother nearly in tears. She came over and yanked and pulled for another two hours. By the time she left, I had two humongous Knots on each side of my head…one about the size of a golf ball (and hard as a rock) and the other, like a flat matted pancake. The worst part was that I still had the top portion of my hair braided which there was no undoing until the knots just below the braided part were gone.

Tangled In New Jersey Testimonial
Aug 28, 2008, 6:29 PM

Dear FBB Inc
I just want to thank all the staff of Take Down products for coming to my rescue. I am a very busy grandmother who takes of my 5 beautiful grandchildren between the ages of 1year to 11years old.
I am on my feet all day long and as you can I have a lot of hair but little time to take care of it.
I always wear it in a bun, but this time I had it in a bun for tooo long. The days became weeks and the weeks became months; I just don’t know what happened. I called the Take Down Company and asked if there was a stylist who could come to New Jersey to work on my hair, because I just didn’t have the time. Also the stylist had to work on my hair only at night when all the kids were sleep- With a bit of reservation the stylist agreed. We began at 9pm and worked until 6am that next morning.
We laughed-then worked, we ate-then worked some more on my hair. I felt so sorry for the technician, but she was so excited just to see my hair being untangled. My hair had formed a bird’s nest, so she first separated it into 2. Then the real work started. I did lose some hair, but as you can see I still have my long thick beautiful hair. I was nice to be able to put my hair in long pretty braids again.
May God Bless You All for such a great product. That Take Down Removal Cream is a miracle. Also I use the shampoo, oil and lotion to keep my hair soft every day.

Dreadlock Testimonial
Aug 28, 2008, 6:29 PM

Most people do not believe that you can remove your locks. Even locs that have been in your head for years can be removed. Gone is the myth that locs are permanent and only removable by cutting them off. An innovative new company out of Atlanta Georgia is making history in the African American hair community. Take Down, developed by FBB, is a cream that helps to unravel locs. I used Take Down to remove my locs and now I simply wear my hair natural. My locs were about four years old and cascading down mid-back. Like many people, I removed my locs to add variety to my style. The only difference is I used Take Down to remove my locs rather than the more drastic cutting off method.

Hair Testimonials

Dear FBB Inc.,
I wanted to write your company and thank you for your scalp pomade it really works well on my scalp. I get this kind of refreshing sensation. I have really dry scalp and it flakes a lot, but with washing my hair weekly and using your pomade I have really noticed a difference. Is it because of the eucalyptus in the pomade? Please let me know.
Susan, Atlanta, GA
